NYGEAR UP gave me a strong sense of direction and encouragement throughout high school. The program not only exposed me to what college life would look like but also enriched my learning by letting me explore science, art, technology, and more. These experiences helped me realize that technology was something I truly wanted to pursue and gave me the confidence to take the next step toward a career in computer science.

I graduated in the year 2020 from Rochester high school of the Arts. I am presently enrolled at Bowie State University. This September I will be entering my junior year in college where I am pursuing a degree in education.
I chose to participate in NYGEAR UP in high school because it gave me access to resources my school did not have. It also provided valuable exposure to colleges and gave me immersive experiences that helped me better understand the college environment.
